• Well, now I know a lot more about Zero Net Energy ('ZNE') homes, in concept and present day practice. Author 'talks' of production home-building industry, but does little to 'splain' why he focused on simply modular homes, when there're at least three other types of factory-built housing (e.g. production site builders, panelizers, & HUD-Code manufactured housing). The Oak Haven Modular House designer, Steve Lefler of Modular Lifestyles, in Irvine, CA., should have been challenged to provide more info on this matter. Use of 'trailer park' lingo on page # 46, and intermixing of panelization & modular technologies does nothing more than confuse readers new to these environs.
• This is an excellent resource for both knowledgable practitioners, and people just getting started down the ZNE path. I have developed 6 ZNE commercial buildings, and I bought one for myself and my 25 year old daughter who is just getting started in the industry. The information was useful to both of us.
